The Heart of England

A series of television commercials are set to air, advertising the West Midlands as 'The Heart of England'.

The ads are part of a £25 million scheme to increase tourism in the Midlands region as a whole.

Various iconic themes and locations are depicted from around the area, such as Alton Towers and historic Stratford Upon Avon.

The sole representation for Birmingham is the Creme Egg, a reference to Cadbury World in Bournville.

If you had to come up with a slogan for Birmingham to attract visitors to the city, what would it be?

BBC WM's Phil Upton @ Breakfast took had some suggestions from listeners, including a song for Birmingham!

BBC WM's Nadine Towell recently went to London and to gauge reaction to the adverts.

She showed passers by 'The Heart of England' videos and asked them what they thought:

Sandra Springett from Scotland said: "We're thinking we going to start seeing a wee bit more of England but we've heard a lot of scary things about Birmingham.

Husband Daniel added: "Well, only about driving on Spaghetti Junction. But I'll visit all the football stadiums. They've got the second best manager in Britain - Martin O'Neil!"

Cynthia Ritchie and her family from Texas said:

"I love the first advert with the cutting of the egg. We've had lots of people requesting we take some chocolate back with us. I thought the adverts were very funny and I didn't know you could visit Cadbury

Rose Lui from London added: "I like the Creme Egg one - I thought it was really funny. I've seen Cadbury World on the internet but I've never been."

"The Heart of England is a very pretty part of the world. We've actually seen the adverts on television - it brings back memories of when we've visited in the past. But they would encourage us and our age group to go there."
