Speaking live on BBC WM Introducing, Paul said: "I have a backing band and we basically do one or two gigs a month and we promote that and then I'll go round and do the acoustic. The band are great guys, amazing musicians and I'm just humbled that they want to back me up. It's nice to play on my own though." Paul's debut album 'Man of the Pee Pole' is out now via his website but its his track 'Find The Right Preacher' that has caused a stir on BBC WM Introducing, the Thursday night new music show. ![]() Paul playing live A haunting acoustic melody with piano accompaniment, the song poses questions about the role of Christianity in the modern world. "I guess it's just my own view on religion in general really," explained Paul. "I've studied religion a lot in my life, I've spent time in Israel, I've looked into many religions. I respect everyone's decision - everyone needs that kind of faith but nothing's ever really grabbed me, personally. "One morning I had a hangover and I was flicking through the channels and came across God TV. There was this guy preaching about the bible. I kept flicking through and there was all these preachers trying to sell Christianity. I think the morals of it are just spot on. I just don't believe in it. "I just crawled off the sofa and this song fell out within an hour. I played it to a few friends and they said it had quite a weight to it. I played it at a few gigs and then played it at this American Christian walk-in centre to see if was offensive. They gave it the thumbs up. ![]() Live performance "There was a reverend there from Illinois who preaches to thousands of people over there and he quoted the whole song in one of his sermons. " Paul performed live versions of 'Niagra Falls', 'Go The Distance', 'Find The Right Preacher' and 'Every Girl Is Beautiful'.
