Julie Walters on Walk of Stars
One of the country's best loved actresses, Julie Walters, is honored on Birmingham's Walk Of Stars on Tuesday 27th October 2009.
Smethwick born actress Julie Walters joins the list of celebrities who already adorn the Walk of Stars on Broad Street.

Ozzy Osbourne was the first to be honoured in July 2007. Since then, a range of famous local personalities have been inducted, including Jasper Carrott, Murray Walker, Noddy Holder, the cast of The Archers and various West Midlands sporting greats.
Julie, who's career spans over 30 years, broke into films with an Academy Award nomination and BAFTA Best Actress award for her performance opposite Michael Caine in Educating Rita.
The 59-year-old went on to star in a succession of blockbuster movies such as Billy Elliot, Harry Potter and Mamma Mia!. She's also well known for her partnership with Victoria Wood and her role as Mrs Overall, the tea lady in Acorn Antiques.

She has won many acting awards throughout her career and was made a OBE in 1999 for her services to drama, and more recently received a CBE.
"I am very honoured and happy that the people of Birmingham and the West Midlands want to include me in their Walk of Stars and I look forward to receiving my star," she said.
"Birmingham and the West Midlands is where I'm from; these are my roots and in essence it has played a big part in making me the person I am today".
