This summer, jazz performers and fans from across the world will be in Birmingham to attend the 24th Birmingham International Jazz Festival. ![]() Lightnin' Willy and the Poor Boys The event offers a combination of jazz, blues, food, poetry, art, photography, cinema and literature, and 90% of the shows are free to the public. With ten days of entertainment from 4 July - 13 July, organisers Big Bear Music and Birmingham City Council promise something for everyone. ![]() The Rogue Dolls From across the sea to a Brummie train carriageThe Jazz Festival presents nearly 200 performances with bands and musicians coming from Canada, France, the Netherlands, Spain, the United States, Hungary, Australia, Germany and Sweden, to name a few. Home grown talent like the Rogue Dolls and Mellow Harmony will play alongside world renowned acts like Lightnin’ Willie and the Poorboys. ![]() Mellow Harmony A big jazz partyEurope’s biggest free jazz party has a well established reputation, drawing visitors from around the world, as well as locals. Free gigs will take place in 73 unusual settings; shops, museums, cricket grounds and even trains - as organisers aim to bring jazz music into the public sphere, so that everyone can experience it.
