T-Mobile Street Ice, in Centenary Square, was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Randal Brew on Thursday 29 November 2007. ![]() Street Ice in Centenary Square The rink took nine days to build. It contains the equivalent of 140 tons of water - or 140,000 litres. The organisers believe it is the UK’s largest temporary outdoor ice rink. Food and drink is available, rink-side, from Frankfurt Christmas Market stalls. Tickets and timesT-Mobile Street Ice is open every day from 10am until 10pm, except for the following days over the festive period: ![]() Centenary Square, 2007 Christmas Eve 10am - 5pm, Christmas Day - closed, Boxing Day 11am - 10pm, New Years Eve 10am - 5pm and New Years Day 11am - 10pm. Tickets for Street Ice can be purchased by calling 0870 225 0127 or by logging onto www.visitbirmingham.com. Tickets cost from £5.00 per hour session.
