The congregation have cleared out all the furniture to make way for 45 illuminated and decorated Christmas trees.

The 'Festival of Christmas' will be open to members of the public on the afternoons and evenings of Friday 30th November, Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd December 2007.

Each of the trees will be festooned with Christmas lights and will be decorated with items that reflect the interest or business of the provider.

Contributors include local schools, a vet, a dentist, a hairdresser, Brownies, Cubs, a chiropodist, a bridal shop and a limousine hire company; plus many more. Visitors can expect to see some unusual items of decoration.

Canon Priestley, the vicar of Hazelwell Church, said:

"We want to make this a friendly occasion when church and community come together to create a magical event and so help one another."

He believes that the Treefest will provide an opportunity to demonstrate the diversity of the community in this part of Kings Heath.
