ChristmasYou are in: Birmingham > Features > Christmas > Festival of Christmas Trees ![]() Inside Hazelwell Church Festival of Christmas TreesHazelwell Church in Kings Heath aims to become the 'Greenest Church in the UK' with a massive Christmas tree-fest. ![]() Preparing trees The congregation have cleared out all the furniture to make way for 45 illuminated and decorated Christmas trees. The 'Festival of Christmas' will be open to members of the public on the afternoons and evenings of Friday 30th November, Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd December 2007. Each of the trees will be festooned with Christmas lights and will be decorated with items that reflect the interest or business of the provider. ![]() Outside Hazelwell Church Contributors include local schools, a vet, a dentist, a hairdresser, Brownies, Cubs, a chiropodist, a bridal shop and a limousine hire company; plus many more. Visitors can expect to see some unusual items of decoration. Canon Priestley, the vicar of Hazelwell Church, said: "We want to make this a friendly occasion when church and community come together to create a magical event and so help one another." He believes that the Treefest will provide an opportunity to demonstrate the diversity of the community in this part of Kings Heath. ![]() Inside Hazelwell Church The Festival will be opened by Bishop Michael Whinney at 4.00pm on Friday 30th November 2007. Admission for adults is £2 with free admission for accompanied children.
