Help playing audio/video ![]() Birmingham musician Ian Darby is equally comfortable playing alone or as part of the experimental pop group Reverie. ![]() Reverie with Ian (far left) On the subject of Reverie, Ian said: "It's kind of hard to define because we use a cello, viola and violin in slightly different ways to what you'd normally expect. We use electronic instruments too so it can be a kind of beefy, jazzy sound. "Tonight is really mellow. I'm picking tunes that suit the set I'm doing." Ian first got into music when he was a schoolboy: ![]() Ian Darby playing live "I started on organs, believe it or not, and then moved on to the piano and moved on to the guitar. I just loved playing these big pianos and that's what really got me hooked on classical music."
