Introducing.... Murdoch

Alternative rock band Murdoch played live on BBC WM Introducing on Thursday 15th November 2007. Listen again to their knock-out performance.

Introducing

A Birmingham band with huge potential, Murdoch tore the house down on BBC WM Introducing before packing up their van and heading down to London for a gig a mere 24 hours later.

Murdoch - were at the light switch on

The four lads were fresh off performing at Millenium Point for the Christmas lights switch on, an event which drew over 40,000 people throughout the course of the day.

Speaking live on BBC WM Introducing, lead singer Jamie Berry said:

"The name Murdoch comes from the author Iris Murdoch. We've been together in different formats for years but just the four of us for the last three years."

Admitting the feel of playing on the radio is a totally different experience than playing before a live crowd, Jamie said:

"It's just as exciting in a different way. You can't visualise your audience, that's the difference. It's a bit more nerve-wracking!"

Murdoch played four tracks throughout the course of the show, one of which was brand new.

Murdoch are: Jamie Berry - vocals and guitar; Jim Minhas - guitar; Nick Berry - bass and vocals; Dan Webb - drums.
