Join the opera

Calling all budding talent! Birmingham Opera Company is looking for more than 100 people who live and work in Birmingham to take part in a production of La Traviata.

Whether you're a rock and roll star or just your typical shower singer, this modern day soap opera wants the community to get involved and share the stage with rising young American soprano Talise Trevigne and Birmingham Opera Company regulars.

Violetta's club

La Traviata is the story of Violetta; having clawed her way out of the gutter can she maintain her place in the celebrity fast lane with her health wrecked by excesses.

There will be two UK dates for the show, both at the NIA on 25th and 26th October 2007.

In order to get involved there will be a series of informal workshops, with free weekly tuition sessions leading up to the performance.
