The Birmingham skyline – as well as some of the city's great landmarks – are on display in quirky 2D and 3D animation to the funky sound of Shimm1's new single – Stereo. Shimm1 was adamant that he wanted the video to "act as a backdrop that is solely made up of Birmingham and Midland based landmarks." He approached the UCE based Notion Studio in Birmingham to create a video for his new release. The result is a dream-like fantasy vision of Birmingham city centre using the latest 2D and 3D technology. Shimm1's world

The team at Norton photographed individual buildings and landmarks around the city which were digitally altered before being dropped into "Shimm1's world" appearing and disappearing on cue. Among the noticeable locations is the Custard Factory – home to Shimm1's record label. "I'm a true believer in building strong connections in your own back yard," he says. "So rather than going to London and dealing with some company that probably would have known nothing of my background, it made sense to hook up with Notion.

"I feel the video can really open doors, not only for myself and Notion Studio, but for Birmingham and the Midlands as a whole by illustrating that there is a hotbed of seriously creative people here."
