Birmingham born Jaskirt, a final year student at Coventry University, first had the idea for her project whilst writing female football match reports for the BBC Birmingham website. Jaskirt began an ambitious project of photographing Birmingham FA female footballers away from the pitches in an effort to raise their profiles. These images are examples of her work. Her project has accompanying text to give background information on the players. "Female footballers have no recognition," she says. "These women have full time jobs or go to university and still put on the shirt for club or country. There is no money thrown towards their game but they do it purely for the love of the sport.

"They look like the average student or the woman you sit next to on the bus. But they’re also England’s best footballers on the weekends. I wanted to give them the recognition they deserve." On display Jaskirt will present her work to members of the photographic and imaging industry and trade press on Thursday 11th January 2007 at the Ramada Hotel, Watford. Her project will also be on display at the Focus on Imaging event at the Birmingham NEC from 25 – 28th February 2007.
