West Brom All Stars in action

Baggies fans can see some of their 'old' players in action, as they don their boots for charity (they're actually not that old, and a little more recent than the victorious West Brom Albion team of 1892 pictured left!)

A group of ex West Brom players will be taking part in a family fun day which will include a football match between a Dominic Lilley Select Xl and West Bromwich Albion All Stars.

The event takes place on Sunday 13th August at the Sedgemere Sports and Social Club in Yardley. Gates open at 12pm and the game kicks off at 2:30pm.

There will be children's rides, a bouncy castle,  ice creams and hot hood, and after the football match an auction of signed merchandise.

Entry is £2.50, available in advance by contacting ec43b1981@yahoo.co.uk, or on the gate on the day.

A similar event was held 2 years ago featuring Aston Villa Old Stars. The proceeds will again be shared between the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young and City Hospital, Birmingham.

The match has been organised by friends of Dominic Lilley, who were shocked that someone so fit and active like Dominic could suffer a cardiac arrest at the age of 20.

The West Brom All Stars team is; Cyrille Regis, Richard Sneekes, Nicky Cross, Richard O’kelly, Mick Evans, Wayne Ferraday, Howard Raven, Paul Waddington, Pete Frain, Rob Evans, Wayne Crooke, Lindsay Cooper, Dave Harrison, Roger Tye, Mark Reece, Ian Mitchel, Mike Appleton, Dave Davies, Gary Hackett, Barry Cowdrill, Don Goodman and Ian Hamilton.

After the game there will be a raffle and a sports auction including:

• Middlesborough UEFA Cup Final shirt signed by the players
• Signed Birmingham City and Coventry City shirts
• A ball signed by the West Bromwich Albion first team
• Items donated from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Walsall, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Inverness & Caledonian Thistle
• T-shirt signed by Sir Steve Redgrave and a mini rugby ball signed by Rob Andrew
• Song lyrics signed by Oasis
