Da Brummie Code

You've heard of the Da Vinci Code, now watch as Brady Haran unravels 'Da Brummie Code'.

There can't be many people who have not heard of The Da Vinci Code - the best-selling book and blockbuster movie.

Set in Paris, London and various other locations, it tells the tale of hidden clues and a shocking secret.

But have you heard of Da Brummie Code?

Da Brummie Code

It also involves clues and another "message" hidden under our noses - but it is here in Birmingham.

Spanning two continents and hundreds of years, it starts with a sequence of numbers on an Ordnance Survey map and ends with a coat of arms in Birmingham City Centre.

Haven't heard of it?

Well that's probably because it's just something a bit silly concocted by video journalist Brady Haran, who works for BBC Birmingham TV.

"I like a good conspiracy theory, and after reading The Da Vinci Code I thought it must be easy to interpret almost anything to have some sort of hidden meaning," Brady said.

"So on a spare afternoon I just had bit of a look around and came up with a short Brummie Code."

Or better yet, why not find your own code or secret message here in Birmingham… If he likes it enough, Brady's promised to make it into another short film and show it on BBC Birmingham TV. Maybe it will be your big break and you'll be the next Dan Brown!
