West Midlands Buddhist Council have worked with Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery to present a special celebration of Buddha day this year to mark 2550 years since the birth of the Buddha.

Buddha Day, also known as Wesak, marks the occasion of the birth, enlightenment, and death of Buddha and is the most sacred day in the Buddhist calendar.

Buddhist groups from all over the city will be coming together in front of BMAG's 2m high Sultanganj Buddha to mark their celebration with flowers and chanting.
