Before: count those calories

Before: count those calories

On Tuesday 14th July 2009, BBC WM's Danny Kelly and his producer Mark 'Ginner' Newman had a stab at eating a 5000-calorie breakfast at the Selly Sausage: 10 eggs, 10 bacon, 10 sausages, 10 pieces of bread, 10 black pudding, plus tomatoes and beans.

Work your way down this page to see how they got on.

Danny Kelly

Danny's our token scouser - born and bred in Liverpool, (the blue half of the city!), he came to the Midlands when he was eighteen.

He's a fully qualified chef, having worked in New York and Spain, before going on to his second career in the used car business.

He went into journalism after getting a taste for radio on Coastline Radio in Nerja on the Costa del Sol in Spain.

Since joining BBC WM, Danny has presented the afternoon show, the late show and Sunday Breakfast.

He is also the "Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the Airwaves" after winning a charity boxing match against a rival DJ from another radio station.
