This is a unique event, as it is the first time that the CBSO have invested in local Asian artists to pay homage to a hero to many Asians worldwide, Mohammed Rafi.

Tickets are available at www.cbso.co.uk/concerts, or by calling the CBSO Box Office on 0121 780 3333.

Rafi Sahab recorded over 26,000 hits over five decades and became the singing voice of such film stars as Shammi Kapoor and Rajendra Kumar.

His death in 1980 prompted an outpouring of grief amongst Indians around the world. Over 25 years on, the CBSO is proud to pay its tribute to this Bollywood legend.

His influence stretched across generations and musical genres, encouraging and inspiring many of the great Asian singers in modern music.
