Kym Smith
Kym Smith

Blues blogger introduced

The BBC Birmingham website has teamed up with three fans to give you a fan's eye view of our three Premiership teams this season.

Each and every week, we will hear each supporter's thoughts in their Footy Blog.

Our Footy Bloggers will continue their blogs through the season.

Kym Smith talks about her beloved Birmingham City.

Kym works for the NHS by day doing project management, but she's also a semi-professional opera singer in her spare time. She entered as she loves to write and is really looking forward to the new season and being the Blues Blogger!

Kym Smith

Name: Kym Smith.

Team: Birmingham City.

Fan since: I was 10 (a long time ago!).

Sum up the previous season: Bit mediocre really given the players that were bought in over the summer, but punctuated by a few high spots (like doubles over Liverpool and Aston Villa!).

How will we fare this season: The heart says top ten; the head says mid-table!

Best player: Mikael Forssell for sheer predatory talent.

Worst player: Olivier Tebily (that's why we call him Terribly - sorry!).

Best game ever seen: Blues v Portsmouth when I was a kid in the 1970s (sorry can't remember the date of the fixture offhand as I was rather young!) The final score was 6-3 and it was a complete goalfest!

Worst game ever seen: Funnily enough, Blues v Portsmouth last season. 0-0, we were diabolical, nobody looked like scoring and 28,000 people nearly lost the will to live.

Best ever atmosphere: The Blues-Villa derby games - without question.

Is Bruce the right man to lead the club: Yes, as things stand at the moment. We've come a long way with him, but we have to build on this in the coming season.

What makes you most proud of your club: We may never have won anything huge, or have an impressive history, but we've survived and dragged ourselves up by the bootstraps, and I think most Blues fans would agree that being on the Premiership rollercoaster is the best white-knuckle ride of all!

Now you know a little about Kym, come back after the Blues games to see Kym’s blog. Don’t forget to leave your comments below.

Hey Kym , Talk about a white knuckle ride , i have done it for the last 50 yrs with Blues . I hope we get the divine intervention , that we need ...

So Lee Dixon thinks Drogba saying he dives sometimes was a language problem. But for that to work, we have to have an idea what he might have understood by the question. Do you fall????? It doesn't make sense. It's hard to see how it was just a misunderstanding / mistranslation. Here's another interpretation: one might argue he was showing a peculiar supercilious disdain for the whole massive cash-cow that's turned him into a rich superstar. Perhaps he's been reading too much Camus. Boycott Football! tk

Agree hat Brucie is the right man for the job. He has been a great manager for three years, he's not sudenly a duff one. I have one concern however that with anything between 8 and 15 players unfit or injured, should we be looking at fitness and training methods?

Russ
Any news on your 'open letter'??

George
Kym, could they add a few more photos of you on this page? Two are not enough.
