The crew have been briefed, the performers have been booked, and costumes are approaching completion, all that’s missing now is you! Birmingham Lesbian & Gay Pride 2005, hits the streets on Saturday 28 May. But for all those early birds and extreme party goers there are many events on scene including XXL at Club DV8. Also taking place at the Nightingale on that evening is The Caribana Club, hosted by Celeste. This is a separate event to the main club and people wishing to attend should use entrance 4, which is opposite Club DV8. The music style is hip hop, urban and ragga. Saturday will see the start of the street festival around the gay village starting at 1pm. Market stalls, fun fair, street entertainment, village green, community space, licensed street bars, Subway City Dance Tent, mini venue arenas and stages offering DJs and performers. With over 20 bars and clubs, there’s something for everyone. Pride at Selfridges

Apart from the Nightingale’s street arena you can also join the Nightingale and Gaydar Radio DJs in the menswear department, Level 3 at Selfridges, where they will be celebrating the Birmingham Pride weekend. Don't forget to pick up a flyer from the Nightingale to get your 10% discount on products in the menswear department at Selfridges over the Pride weekend. You will also be able to purchase your tickets for Nightingale Club’s Saturday, Sunday or the weekend evening events. Fairy Tales The procession will form in Birmingham City Centre’s Victoria Square from 4pm and kicks of at 6pm on it colourful journey through the streets of the city centre before making it’s way down Hurst street and into the gay village. The theme this year is fairy tales, you can expect some interesting twists to your favourite tales. Bananarama at the Nightingale

Saturday night will see some great entertainment taking place across the city, at the Nightingale Club we have Bananarama, while at DV8, Rowetta from the X Factor will be performing. Subway City presents their Pride All-nighter, 10pm – 10am and Chic (formally known as Kudos) will be hosting their infamous Breakfast Club. Sunday starts from 1pm and continues with the street party around the gay village. On the village green there will be a great selection of family and community activities including a dog show, face painting, egg and spoon race, live entertainment and many more great activities. After the bars close the clubs will go on well into the night. Subway city host their second all-nighter, BLUE. At the Nightingale we have Boney M featuring Liz Mitchell, the original vocalist. Chic presents Sexual Revolution 8pm – 9am and last but not least DV8 have a PA by Liberty X. Once you've made it through the rest of the weekend and Monday evening get closer we head into our final approach to the finale of Birmingham Pride. This is your last chance to get any goodies and treats from the market stalls, to get on that fairground ride that you've been looking at all weekend, or to exchange numbers with that sexy guy/girl who you've taken a shine to.

As the sun set’s over the gay village you can party into the night at Route’s party night or you could select to join the freaks at the Nightingale Club for Summer Junkies Pride special. Celebrate diversity Birmingham Pride is all about celebrating the diversity of our city and gay lifestyle. Although the festival is based in the gay village and is organized by the Birmingham Gay Business Partnership we understand and encompass that gay lifestyle is not all about clubs and bars, that is why you will find many other events and activities taking place all year round to celebrate the diverse community we live in.
