In 2005, BBC's Crufts coverage has an interactive service, available at the press of your digital TV remote control. You can access the service by pressing the red button whilst watching BBC 1 or 2 over the next couple of days, or just when watching Crufts.

The interactive service also includes up-to-the-minute results from the day's breed and group finals, and these are available by just pressing your red button too.

If you have been watching Crufts 2005, you may know of the Hero Dogs competition...

HERO DOGS

Crufts 2005 isn't just about pampered pedigrees. This year sees the start of a brand new part of the competition - Hero Dogs.

The Kennel Club has nominated six dogs who they think have gone beyond the call of doggy duty and truly deserve to be called man's best friend.

You, the viewers, are invited to choose the winner of Crufts Hero Dog final. You can do this by reading about the nominees below and then texting or phoning us on the appropriate number.

You can find out more about the dogs by watching Crufts between now and Sunday. Digital viewers can watch the stories in full by pressing red on their digital remotes whilst watching BBC1 or BBC2, and also when watching Crufts.

So, just who are these courageous canines…?

- There's Mandy, the intrepid trail hound who saved owner Peter from a certain fate. You can vote for her by texting MANDY to 61222 or by calling 0901 192 1021

- What about brainy Boswell the Italian Spinone, who has given his owner, Maelee, her independence back? Text BOSWELL to 61222 or call 0901 192 1022

- Will you choose Endal, Allen's life-changing Labrador and right hand dog? Text ENDAL to 61222 or by call 0901 192 1023

- How about loyal Tyson, the German Shepherd cross who refused to desert owner Bob in his hour of need? Text TYSON to 61222

- What about Buster the spaniel, Danny's fearless arms and explosives search dog? Text BUSTER TO 61222

- Or would you want clever Valentine to win? She's owner June's guardian angel. Text VALENTINE to 61222
or call 0901 192 1026

The dog with the most of your votes will be presented with their Hero Dog award at Crufts on Sunday 13th March, just before Best in Show.

Please note calls to the 0901 number cost 10p and texts cost a maximum of 12p. Please get permission from whoever pays the bill.
