So
we didn't snatch the Capital of Culture title - but we're still a
winning city and proud of it! Well, at least some of us are...Here's
what you thought on the Capital of Culture 2008 decision.... |

I
heard it was Birmingham or Newcastle! I definitely think Birmingham
should have won it. There's lots of culture here and things
like the recent gay pride.

It's
very bad. It really is a beautiful city. Birmingham has lots
of culture.

It
doesn't really bother me, I didn't really think about it.
It's not important. Birmingham could have won. There's a lot
of stuff to do here - it's good.

We
are improving but degenerating. We're a dirty city. If we
can clean up people will feel they're in a better environment.

It's
a shame - especially Liverpool winning! Birmingham is the
second city and the most culturally diverse. We celebrates
cultures all the time with the huge Irish parades, diwali
and everything. We don't really need a title - we're great
anyway!

I
thought Birmingham should have got it. Other cities had things
going for them but it seemed that Birmingham had more attributes.
More people know about Manchester than Birmingham. We deserve
the recognition we should have won.

It's
a shame - it's a multi-cultural city and gives opportunity
to lots of people. Wherever you are from you can identify
with the city. It has great art, culture, religious groups
and dance.
