Andrew Norriss

Scotsman Andrew Norriss hasn't always been an author. In fact, he was a teacher and TV script writer before he entered the wonderful world of children's literature.

He was one of the creators of The Brittas Empire which was a hit comedy on BBC Television during the early 1990's and turned his hand to Children's TV with the series Woof!

His favourite books as a child were the Narnia stories by C.S. Lewis and these inspired him to write Matt's Million, which is an interesting tale about lottery fever.

In 1997 Andrew won The Whitbread Children's Novel Award for Aquila, which along with Matt's Million, have been adapted into TV shows.

The Touchstone is about a boy called Douglas Patterson who helps a dying Alien that has landed on his doorstep. In return Doug receives a touchstone that turns his life upside down!
