Simon Mason was born in Sheffield in 1962. He studied English at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford. He has written three novels of black comedy for adults. The Quigleys is his first series for children: it's about a spirited and lovable family.

Simon lives in Oxford with his wife and their two children, Gwil and Eleri.
