Wendy Eyton
Wendy Eyton was born in Derbyshire, and she still lives there, in a magical little eight-sided house, known as 'The Threepenny Bit'. If you've read or heard Tales from the Threepenny Bit, you'll already know all about it!
For five years, Wendy worked as an actress in the theatre. Once she played a flower girl who had a talking cat for company!
She has had lots of other jobs too, including hospital orderly, chambermaid, an extra on the TV, butter demonstrator and a worker in a porridge factory!
When she was a child, Wendy's favourite books were Peter Pan and Wendy, The Wind in the Willows, The Little Prince, Charlotte's Web and many others.
Wendy has written lots of stories, including The Witch of Wuthery Heights, Beastly Boris and the Tantrum Fairy and The Upstairs Bears.
Her story The Magic Thistledown Dog was inspired by her dog, Bosie (pictured with Wendy, above).
