Richard and Judy
Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan are probably the most famous couple on daytime television. Judy started her career in 1971 as a researcher for Granada Television, and went on to be the first female reporter on the About Anglia News team. Richard began his media career in local newspapers in Essex, before moving to BBC Radio Carlisle at the age of 19 to be a news producer and presenter.
They met when they both found themselves working at Granada in the early 1980s. Here Judy was assigned to look after Richard on his first day, and greeted him with the words "Hello, I'm your mummy".
The couple married in 1986 and went on to host This Morning until 2001, when they quit ITV and moved to Channel 4 to host a new show called simply, Richard and Judy. The couple have two children together, Jack and Chloe, as well as two children from Judy's previous marriage.
