When
you arrive into Reading station, you'll easily be able to find the
festival site - just follow the masses.
Here
are a few things you may want to look out for en-route...
 |
|
The
nearest newsagents to the festival site
|
You'll
find this newsagents on the corner of Richfield Avenue and
Caversham Road, right by the festival site.
It's
the nearest newsagent to the site and, don't be fooled. It often
looks closed but it is open!
 |
| The
Gorge Cafe is a favourite haunt for festival-goers |
The
Gorge Cafe is next to the newsagents and it is really popular
over the festival weekend.
And
this year, for the first time, the cafe will be open 24 hours during
the Festival period.
 |
| The
Gorge Cafe has interesting decor! |
Check
out its unusual decor and get a break from those burgers and kebabs
on site.
You
can sit outside, but be prepared to fight for a seat!
If you
want to really splash out and go for a sit-down meal, head
over Caversham Bridge and into Caversham.
You'll
find several restaurants, an Esso petrol station with Tesco
Express and Waitrose supermarket.

Just
before the petrol station on the left side of Church Road you'll
see Nickson's Country Shop which is a clothing and outdoor
shop where you can buy last minute camping supplies.
TIP:
There's a Blacks camping shop in the town centre alongside the Broad
Street Mall too.
 |
| Tesco
Extra on Napier Road in Reading |
If
you want to do a big food shop, there is a Tesco Extra in
Reading, but it's a good 30 minute walk from the site.
Nearer
to the site is the Majestic Wine Warehouse. This is on Vastern
Road on a big retail park. You'll see it on the right hand side
as you walk to the site from the station.
 |
| A
good place to stock up on vital commodities |
If
you're planning to head into the town centre, be prepared for shop
keepers to be none-too pleased for you to use their loos and washing
facilities.
Tip:
Don't all head for John Lewis on Broad Street just because it's
the nearest.
You
might be better off trying the Broad Street Mall at the top
of Broad Street, and The Oracle Centre which has several
department stores and its own toilets.
