Oxford
Road: The Story will show a more positive and rounded side of West
Reading. The story lines and characters have been inspired by workshops
with local people from a variety of backgrounds.
On
9th July, Radio Berkshire came to Tea J's cafe on the Norcot roundabout
to meet with writer Mike Walker, music producer Lucinda Mason Brown
and lots of others, including one of the stars of the drama, Reading
musician Julia Titus.

The professionally-produced
soap will run for ten minutes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday on
BBC Radio Berkshire from 2nd to 29th August, to be broadcast at 12.30.
Every episode will be available to listen to on demand on this website.
You'll also be able to read illustrated interviews with the people
involved and features about the characters and plot.

There
will also be a series of 16 outside broadcasts along the Oxford
Road introducing listeners to the real people behind the drama.
