Uri Geller mourns Prince of PopAs millions around the world grieved over the passing of pop superstar Michael Jackson, BBC Radio Berkshire's Andrew Peach spoke to Uri Geller. Sonning-based Uri told Andrew about his long friendship with Michael, who often visited him in Berkshire. Andrew spoke to Berkshire magician and psychic Uri Geller the morning after news of Michael Jackson's death broke. ![]() The media at Uri's home, trying to snap Jackson. Michael Jackson was best man to Uri Geller in 2001, when he renewed his vows to his wife Hannah at their Sonning home. Uri said that he was 'devastated', and thought that stress could have been the tipping point which led to Michael Jackson's final illness. He said: "I guess I'm devastated as hundreds of millions of people around the world are who cared about Michael. "He visited Sonning many, many times. He was an amazingly unusual person. He was a genius in music, he was an icon, an idol. "Michael Jackson will not sing live again ever. It is just unbelievable. "I cannot comprehend it, it is like a surreal movie. He was under tremendous stress. I understand he was in good shape but he was under huge anticipation to prove himself in England. "I'm no doctor but I believe that stress killed him." Uri said that Michael Jackson was a 'little strange' and 'sometimes bizarre', but still a good friend. ![]() Fans mourn Michael Jackson in Los Angeles. "I had my ups and downs with him." he said: "Times when we didn't speak, times when I shouted at him, when I thought he did something wrong but to hear such news that he is gone is terrible." Matt Fiddes, who used to be Michael Jackson's bodyguard, was introduced to the pop star by Uri Geller. He told Andrew Peach: "The guy was loved by people around the world. He was a musical genius. I had the privilege to see him work and spend time with him. I don't feel the public have ever had the chance to see the real Michael Jackson. The real Michael Jackson is a wonderful person. "He was not a happy person, he found it very hard to trust people, especially in the last few years. "He was one of the most misunderstood men in the world. He loved his fans.
