Scouting For Girls: Greg, Roy and Peter

When Scouting For Girls met South Today's Sarah Burbedge, little did they know she would come up with an idea for a concept album.

Also, the band reveal to Sarah what Berkshire resident and TV personality Timmy Mallett got up to at one of their gigs, whether frontman Roy Stride makes a convincing James Bond and why they love their day-time murder mysteries - as Roy says here:

"When we were putting out our own records we used to work two days a week to pay bills, and then two or three days a week either recording or promotional stuff.

"We literally did all this while watching day time TV - everything: Diagnosis Murder, Murder She Wrote, Miss Marple. One of our B-sides is the Murder Mystery Song and it mentions all the greats."

The band, also featuring bassist Greg Churchouse and drummer Peter Ellard, also reveal their tips for unsigned bands in the video.

Here's another snippet from Roy:

"We just love doing what we do. We've been in bands for about ten years and then Scouting For Girls took us about two years before we got a deal. We've always played music together. We never thought it would get this big.

"We were selling out our own shows and putting out our own albums before we had a record deal."
