BBC Radio Berkshire's The Session Introducing gig night is a great chance for upcoming local bands to grab the spotlight as well as have their live set broadcast on the radio.
The local bands show has teamed up with the Shout About Music team who put on the weekly Wednesday night gigs at Bar Four in Friar Street, Reading.
The first slot of the night is reserved for bands who've entered The Session's demo panel. One is selected each week by Shout About Music promoter Jack Hepplewhite.
The BBC may even record their gig and play a song or two from their live set on The Session Introducing show the following Sunday.
What's more, The Session's presenter Linda Serck can pass on any tracks she rates to the Radio One and 6 Music Introducing shows.
Jack Hepplewhite says: "The Reading live scene has been in need of a live event to match what Linda and the BBC Berkshire team have been doing with The Session.
"Although Reading is going through a successful time with local acts like Does It Offend You, Yeah?, SixNationState, Beggars and My Luminaries finding national acclaim, we need to support the next line of talent coming through.
