cinYou are in: Berkshire > cin > Students get a grilling for Children In Need ![]() Students get a grilling for Children In NeedFind out about a special Children In Need event taking place at Altwood School in Maidenhead on Thursday 15 November. It involves grilling students... No, this isn't the latest in extreme fundraising, but in actual fact a grilling in the metaphorical sense. Students will be grilled at a Sixth Form Charity Quiz Challenge - an inter-school competition for secondary schools from East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire. Hosted by local voluntary group One World Party, this year's event will be held on Thursday 15 November at Altwood School in Maidenhead following a successful quiz last year. Money raised benefit BBC Children in Need, as well as educational projects in Africa and India. Charters School in Ascot triumphed at last year's quiz - which school will win this year? The fun competitive element however sits alongside more serious lessons to learn. One World Party Chair, Ute Wieczorek-King, says "Our aim is that the evening should be informative as well as fun. "We offer students the opportunity to hone their team-working skills and to learn about the serious issue of world poverty, but we do this in a relaxed and entertaining way." One World Party is a voluntary group of Maidenhead businessmen and women that raises money for charities in Asia, Africa and locally.
