Still got a bit of festival spirit in you? Do you fancy an all-day music fest in Newbury? You can head down to a free festival that takes in folk, indie, reggae and even flamenco guitar in Newbury on Sunday 14 October.

With the winter months drawing in the festival spirit lives on, though understandably under the warm cosy roof of a bar.

The Almost Ambitious festival kicks off at the Cuba Bar in Newbury with an array of different bands from 4pm.

First there's a short set of flamenco and classical guitar by Adam Vickers, followed by reggae singer/songwriter Laura Urquhart.

Other artists to look out for on the night is one of the three headliners Callaghan, who has just returned after a short tour of Tennesse in the US.

Also on the night, main headliner Eternal Sunshines will be releasing their second album The Game Is Over.

Eternal Sunshines

Eternal Sunshines are a three-piece local upcoming Newbury/Reading band who have organised the new Almost Ambitious Festival from scratch.

They have been building up a following through local gigs and MySpace airplay. The trio have a new album out on 14 October called The Game Is Over, which coincides with the festival.

Callaghan

A singer/songwriter based in London, who has recently done a small tour in Nashville in the US. She is currently riding high in the MySpace music charts.

Callaghan has been dubbed an exceptional vocalist and writer, influenced by artists such a Carole King, Jewel and Sarah McLachlan. Her style fuses elements of melodic pop, folk and country.

Somahigh

The Southampton-based band have recently been described as the 'best unsigned band in 15 years' while on tour across the UK. Which also included a date at the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool. They have a new EP out now.
