Legsy Gets A Break

On this page: Your chance to listen to each instalment of BBC Radio Berkshire's groundbreaking five-part drama, challenging perceptions of young people in trouble with the Law.

This is the story of a young man called Legsy. He's in trouble with the law - but there's much more to him than that.

Legsy Gets A Break is a five-part radio drama inspired by real stories. It provides a chance to get to grips with the lives of people behind headlines about youth crime, knife crime and ASBOs.

Each day, we stop the action at a crucial moment in Legsy's life and you get the chance to talk directly to the characters involved in the drama. You can ask them questions. You can give your opinion on what's happened to them and you can tell them exactly what you think of them.

Legsy Gets A Break was scripted by Phil Gladwyn, who writes for The Bill, Trial & Retribution and Casualty. All the storylines come from the lives of young people on intensive supervision programmes.

The drama was recorded at Reading's 21 South St Arts Centre in September 2007, with BBC Radio Berkshire's Andrew Peach as the host.

Hear new instalments on the Andrew Peach show after 9am between 1 October and 5 October, or listen to them using the links below.

You can also listen to the live discussion involving the characters which takes place on air after each instalment.
