AFC Crowthorne had been working hard during the week on their passing + possession game and this paid dividends on match day. Missing Theodore Bower (West Ham) and Adam Blake (Plymouth) the Crows were forced to try new tactics yet again. Portuguese international Andre Jardim has found the goal scoring form that the Crows knew he had, scoring 6 in total. His running from midfield was a pleasure to watch and his fitness is awe inspiring. Captain Kennie Chamberlain was in great form, running the game from the centre of midfield, showing why a host of top clubs are looking closely at him. Kennie also chipped in with a brace of stunning strikes either side of half-time. Maxwell King was back to his old tricks with world class crossing and another stunning 30 yarder that curled into the top corner. Max also hit a magnificent corner that had such spin, it bounced in almost the opposite direction to fox the Ashridge defence and go in off a stunned defender. Jack Khan was back to scoring ways notching a true strikers effort from close in. Alex Ring scored a close range effort and continues to pose a threat to any defence. The Crows managed a spell of almost 6 minutes possession, with 66 passes and every player touching the ball, including keeper Conor Watson. Squad: Watson, Paliczka, Clapcott, Tribe, King, Chamberlain (c), Jardim, Poston, Herbert, Sharkey, Khan. Subs: Ring (Sharkey 45) Jones (Khan 45) MATCH REPORTER: Douglas King |
