The pioneering American singer/songwriter is heading to the Anvil in Basingstoke on Thursday 23 June. Having appeared at WOMAD festival in Reading a few years ago, she heads back to our neck of the woods as part of a short UK tour.

Suzanne Vega, pioneering American singer/songwriter, returns to the UK for a short acoustic tour.

Suzanne emerged from the same folk scene that spawned Bob Dylan and Joan Baez twenty years earlier, and although her work borrows much from folk's tradition of storytelling, her gentle yet powerfully political acoustic pop brought singles such as Marlene On the Wall, Luka and the hugely successful Solitude Standing album to a global audience.

Suzanne has inspired a whole new generation of musicians - Beth Orton and Alanis Morrisette spring to mind - and tonight is a chance to hear those beautiful songs and hauntingly fragile vocals live.
