FACTS

13 million adults smoke in the UK.

Every year around 120,000 smokers die as a result of their habit.

Smoking kills six times more people in the UK every year than the total sum of road accidents, suicides, murders and overdoses.

Every year smoking causes 30 per cent of all cancer deaths, 17 per cent of heart disease fatalities and a staggering 80 per cent of deaths from bronchitis and emphysema.

Smoking is highest among those aged 20 to 34.

People do give up - a survey shows that 20 per cent of women and 27 per cent of men asked are ex-smokers.

Quitting cigarettes...it's such a drag. But it need not be.

We at BBC Berkshire think that one way to take your mind off smoking is to have a relaxing massage. Mmmm!

Richard Keaney is a well-established and qualified holistic therapist (I.I.H.H.T) based in St John's Hill, Reading.

He also lectures in Holistic Therapy at Reading College - so you are safe in his hands!

He will give a smoker who is trying to stop or wants to stop a luxurious treatment to help forget those 'puff' pangs.

Second and third prizes will be a Nicorette goodie bag with £10 cinema vouchers, clock and coasters - they'll act as a constant reminder that you've stopped!

Quitters can enter our 'Get the Massage' competition by answering the following question:
(clue - answer in the fact box!)

Around how many smokers die as a result of their habit every year?

a. 50,000
b. 78,000
c. 110,000
d. 120,000
