Bat BBC Wildlife Fund is supporting SWT’s West Weald Landscape scale bat project, providing habitat for a number of rare bats and scientific work to understand them further Our wildlife diary for November reports on the delivery of a rather special hearing aid.

Saker Falcon BBC Wildlife Fund is supporting the RSPB’s Saker Falcon Project in conjunction with Birdlife and the BSPB in Bulgaria, providing artificial nests for the birds far away from the human dangers that led to their decline. Our wildlife diary for October shows how this is progressing.



Sepember Wildlife Diary


Elephant watering hole BBC Wildlife Fund is supporting IRDNC’s elephant project in Namibia, providing watering points which keep elephants away from villages. Our wildlife diary for September shows how this is helping to protect both elephants and communities across the country.

Seahorse BBC Wildlife Fund is supporting Project Seahorse and the Zoological Society of London, which are helping to protect marine areas in the Philippines that are important for seahorses. Our wildlife diary for August comes from Dr Heather Koldewey.

Cormorants BBC Wildlife Fund is supporting The Charles Darwin Foundation and Galapagos Conservation Trust, which is monitoring the Flightless Cormorant and Galapagos Penguin. Our wildlife diary for July comes from Gustavo Jiménez-Uzcátegui.

June Wildlife Diary

Mountain Gorilla BBC Wildlife Fund is supporting FFI’s mountain gorilla programme in Uganda and Rwanda, which is helping to reduce human impact on mountain gorilla habitat. Our wildlife diary for June comes from Project Leader Annette Kembabazi.

April Wildlife Diary

Giraffe Last month Ernestina Craig Hall, Project Manager for the BBC Wildlife Fund's own department BBC Outreach, visited the Mpus Kutuk Community Conservancy whilst on a trip to Kenya. In December 2007 the BBC Wildlife Fund gave a grant of £19,371 to Tusk Trust for work in the region.
Here, Ernestina reports back on how that grant has been used.
