Alun Williams


Originally from the village of Llandyrnog, Dyffryn Clwyd, he studied European Politics in Swansea University. He spent a year working in New York before settling in Cardiff. Specialising in developing the Welsh language within the public services, he has worked in the Welsh Assembly Government, Higher Education Funding Council for Wales and now with Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

He is voracious reader of history including American and Post War European History. A keen amateur runner, he has run numerous races over the years including a cross country marathon. His favourite race was the Lichtenstein Alpine Half Marathon he completed in 2011 with the personal slowest time ever of 3 hours.
