Steven is married with three children and lives in Dromore, County Down. He works full-time for a Strategic Local Authority and is also active in the Community Radio Sector, currently presenting a weekly music programme and having previously volunteered as manager of a Community Radio Station in County Down.
He has worked part-time as a presenter for Downtown Radio and for Belfast Community Radio, the predecessor to Citybeat, and is a member of the Radio Academy. Steven is a past Chairman of the Castlereagh Peace and Reconciliation Partnership Board and has acted as an advisor to the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA). He is active in his local Church and is a willing volunteer each year with the largest Youth Event in Ireland, Summer Madness. In addition, Steven is a voluntary member of the South-East area Translink passenger group. Steven is a keen adopter of new technology, writes his own blog and has written for Wired magazine on technology. He also loves to swim and spends as much time as possible listening to radio and podcasts - local, national and international - on his many internet-enabled radios at home, as well as via his phone and tablet. Steven consumes the full range of BBC services - radio, television and online - although radio is his passion. He particularly enjoys factual television programmes and is online during most of his waking hours.
