Referendum Campaign Broadcasts

16 December 2010

Background

The Trust ran a consultation from 09 November 2010 until 07 December 2010 regarding the draft Referendum Guidelines (the "Guidelines") and draft criteria regarding the allocation of Referendum Campaign Broadcasts (the "Criteria") developed by the BBC Executive. The Trust also consulted on its complaints process revised to include complaints regarding the allocation of Party Political Broadcasts and Referendum Campaign Broadcasts.

The Trust's decision

The Trust determined to approve the Guidelines (with some minor amendments) and to approve the Criteria as drafted.

The Trust determined that it is satisfied that the complaints process is appropriate to address complaints raised regarding the allocation of Party Political Broadcasts and Referendum Campaign Broadcasts.
