Publication of the purpose remits
Following public consultation and audience research, the Trust has now finalised the six BBC purpose remits.
The Chairman has written to the Director-General to set out the Trust's priorities for the Executive Board in the coming years and explain how the Trust will judge the Executive's performance against the remits. Included with the letter are a summary of the public's priorities for action; new research commissioned by the BBC Trust on audience perceptions of innovation and distinctiveness; an explanatory note on changes made in finalising the purpose remits; and the six remits themselves together with their operating framework.
