BBC’s Criteria for the Allocation of PPBs BBC Channels for PPBs PPBs will be broadcast in the relevant nation on BBC One and BBC Two. Allocation Criteria for PPBs England A registered political party in England will qualify for a PPB in Autumn, Winter and Spring in England if it: 1. holds more than one seat in the House of Commons; and 2. can demonstrate substantial levels of electoral support across a series of elections in England. Scotland A registered political party in Scotland will qualify for a PPB in Autumn, Winter and Spring in Scotland if it: 1. holds more than one seat in: (a) the Scottish Parliament; or (b) the House of Commons, and 2. can demonstrate substantial levels of electoral support across a series of elections in Scotland. Wales A registered political party in Wales will qualify for a PPB in Autumn, Winter and Spring in Wales if it: 1. holds more than one seat in: (a) the Welsh Assembly; or (b) the House of Commons, and 2. can demonstrate substantial levels of electoral support across a series of elections in Wales. Northern Ireland A registered political party in Northern Ireland will qualify for 1 or 2 PPB in Northern Ireland in the period of September to March (excluding December) if it: 1. holds more than one seat in: (a) the Northern Ireland Assembly; or (b) the House of Commons, and 2. can demonstrate substantial levels of electoral support across a series of elections in Northern Ireland. NB. PPBs will not be scheduled during election periods and may be cancelled or postponed if elections or by-elections are called. Scheduling must be confirmed not less than six weeks before transmission date and is subject to BBC agreement.
