Getting the best out of the BBC for licence fee payers

Who we are

The 12 Trustees, supported by the Trust Unit, make sure the BBC listens to the voice of the public

Representing different audience viewpoints.

It's our job as the Trust – the governing body of the BBC made up of 12 Trustees supported by a team of professional staff – to get the best out of the BBC for licence fee payers

We support the BBC and guard its independence - and we work to get the best out of the BBC for licence fee payers

The Trustees

We bring a wide range of skills and experience to our work as Trustees. Four Trustees take on special responsibilities for the licence fee payers of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

The Trust Unit

The Trust Unit helps us do our work by providing expert independent advice and administrative support. To protect their independence, members of the Trust Unit report only to us, not to the BBC Executive
