Getting the best out of the BBC for licence fee payers
The Trust sets the course for the BBC. We represent the public who own and pay for the BBC

The Trust has big ambitions for the BBC to serve you better. We will support and challenge the BBC to do this, so that it maintains and deserves the high level of trust and affection you, the British public, tell us you have for it.
The 12 Trustees, supported by the Trust Unit, make sure the BBC listens to the voice of the public
We work openly. We make our decisions based on hard evidence and wide consultation
The Charter and Agreement gives us powers to set BBC strategy, agree top-level budgets, and ensure standards are kept to through regular reviews
Before making significant decisions we consult the public directly and through our Audience Councils
If you feel the BBC isn't living up to the highest standards you have the right to complain to the BBC Executive
