BBC Trust

Getting the best out of the BBC for licence fee payers

How we operate

We are open about what we do and how we work. We make sure the public have a voice in our decisions

Representing different audience viewpoints.

We are your voice within the BBC; we have considerable power to wield on your behalf – and when we need to, we act quickly and decisively in your interests

We meet as the full Trust monthly. We always publish our workplan for the year ahead and ask the public to comment.

Trust workplan

Each year we publish a work plan for the year ahead

Key dates

We publish details of the meetings of the Trust and our Audience Councils

Trust meetings

We say in advance when we will hold our monthly meetings and we publish a record of what we discussed

Committees

We do much of our work in small committees dealing, for example, with finance, editorial standards and appeals

Code of Practice

The principles that govern the way we work are set out in our Code of Practice

Our offices

The BBC Trust is based in central London; small numbers of Trust Unit staff are also based in BBC buildings in Belfast, Glasgow, Birmingham and Cardiff.
