Committees

We do much of our work in small committees that report to the full Trust. This page outlines what each committee does and which Trustees sit on each committee.

Audience Councils Committee (ACC)

The Audience Councils Committee co-ordinates the work of the Audience Councils and their advice to the Trust.

The committee members are: Diane Coyle (chair), Alison Hastings, Rotha Johnston, Bill Matthews and Elan Closs Stephens.

Audiences and Performance Committee (APC)

The Audiences and Performance Committee is responsible for developing the strategy and assessing the performance of the BBC's UK public services.

The committee members are: David Liddiment (chair), Diane Coyle, Alison Hastings, Mehmuda Mian and Suzanna Taverne.

Complaints and Appeals Board (CAB)

The Complaints and Appeals Board hears appeals on all matters other than editorial standards on behalf of the Trust.

The committee members are: Richard Ayre (chair) and Mehmuda Mian, with other Trustees as required.

Editorial Standards Committee (ESC)

The Editorial Standards Committee sets the editorial and content standards for the BBC, and oversees the editorial complaints process.

The committee members are: Alison Hastings (chair), Richard Ayre, David Liddiment, Mehmuda Mian and Lord Williams.

International Services Committee (ISC)

The International Services Committee is responsible for helping the Trust to develop strategy for, and assess the performance of, the BBC's international public services.

The committee members are: Lord Williams (chair), Diane Coyle, Richard Ayre, David Liddiment, Elan Closs Stephens.

Remuneration and Appointments Committee (RAC)

The Remuneration and Appointments Committee carries out the Trust's duties regarding Executive Board pay and appointments.

The committee members are: Lord Patten (chair), Diane Coyle, Anthony Fry and Rotha Johnston.

Strategy and Approvals Committee (SAC)

The Strategy and Approvals Committee oversees the non-service and commercial strategy and makes recommendations to the Trust.

The committee members are: Diane Coyle (chair), Richard Ayre, Anthony Fry, David Liddiment (ex officio as chairman of the Audiences and Performance Committee, for service approval matters), Bill Matthews and Suzanna Taverne.

Trust Finance Committee (TFC)

The Trust Finance Committee oversees the budget, assurance and value for money processes at the Trust.

The committee members are: Anthony Fry (chair), Rotha Johnston, Elan Closs Stephens, Suzanna Taverne and Lord Williams.
