Committees
We do much of our work in small committees that report to the full Trust. This page outlines what each committee does and which Trustees sit on each committee.
Audiences and Performance Committee
The Audiences and Performance Committee assesses the performance of the BBC's public services, and it reviews how the BBC is performing among different audience groups.
The committee members are David Liddiment (Chair), Diane Coyle, Alison Hastings, Patricia Hodgson, and Mehmuda Mian.

Audience Councils Committee
The Audience Councils Committee oversees the work of the BBC Audience Councils and makes sure that issues raised by the Councils are properly dealt with by the Trust.
The committee members are: Chitra Bharucha (Chair), Alison Hastings, Rotha Johnston, Janet Lewis-Jones, and Jeremy Peat.

Editorial Standards Committee
The Editorial Standards Committee sets editorial and content standards for the BBC. It also oversees the BBC's editorial complaints process and considers appeals against editorial complaints.
The committee members are: Richard Tait (Chair), Chitra Bharucha, Anthony Fry, Alison Hastings, David Liddiment, and Mehmuda Mian.

Finance and Compliance Committee
The committee deals with a wide range of financial and compliance issues. These include reviewing the annual budget from the BBC Executive Board, managing the Trust's value for money reviews, and considering appeals on fair trading complaints.
The committee members are: Rotha Johnston (Chair), Anthony Fry, Patricia Hodgson, Janet Lewis-Jones, and Jeremy Peat.

Strategic Approvals Committee
The Strategic Approvals Committee considers proposals from the BBC Executive Board to launch new services or change existing ones. It manages the Public Value Test process, and it oversees the BBC's commercial strategy.
The committee members are: Diane Coyle (Chair), Patricia Hodgson, Rotha Johnston, Jeremy Peat, Richard Tait, and David Liddiment (ex officio as chairman of the Audiences and Performance Committee, and only for service approval matters).

Remuneration and Appointments Committee
The committee carries out the Trust's duties relating to Executive Board pay and appointments.
The committee members are: Chitra Bharucha (Chair), Anthony Fry, Michael Lyons, and Janet Lewis-Jones.

General Appeals Panel
The Panel hears appeals on complaints that are not covered by other BBC processes for dealing with complaints, such as editorial or fair trading complaints.
Panel membership is not fixed, but each panel is made up of two Trustees and panels are usually chaired by the Vice Chairman (Chitra Bharucha).
