Equality of opportunity in employment

The BBC has a duty under the Charter to promote equality of opportunity in employment. Each year the Executive Board reports to us on how they are fulfilling this duty. We publish their report and our observations on it

BBC equality schemes

In its public functions the BBC has the duty to promote equality positively and to work to get rid of unlawful discrimination in race, disability and gender. To achieve this, the BBC has race, gender and disability equality schemes

Equality Impact Assessments

We use Equality Impact Assessments to make sure that the Trust, in carrying out its public functions, doesn't unlawfully discriminate against any section of the public and that where possible it promotes equality
