Audience Councils

Our Audience Councils help us to understand the needs and concerns of audiences in all parts of the UK

Representing different audience viewpoints.

Audience Council members are recruited to ensure they reflect the diversity of the UK, have connections with communities and are able to take a view on how the BBC's Public Purposes should be promoted

There are Councils for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Each Council is chaired by the Trustee for that nation.

Audience Councils

The Councils advise us how well the BBC is serving licence fee payers across the UK. The Councils also have formal rights to be consulted on issues such as service licence reviews

Consultations

Public consultation plays a central role in the way we make our decisions. As well as consulting through our Audience Councils, we also consult directly with the public
