The celebrity age

Renowned celebrity photographer David LaChapelle was given his first job by Warhol, who invited him to work on Interview magazine, which Warhol had founded in 1969 (and which is still published today).

Here LaChapelle describes how he has followed in Warhol's footsteps in attempting to capture the worlds of celebrity and popular culture.

Through his unique questioning of what art can tell us about ourselves and the world we inhabit, today's emerging artists are forever in Warhol's debt.
