What are your thoughts on the French detective series Spiral that was broadcast on BBC Four? Send us your views using the form on the right and we will publish a selection below.
Wow! Not only do you bring us the wonderful Mad Men but your sophistication in choosing good cultural TV has even gone so far as to screen something in French. Spiral is excellent. Dark, moody atmospheric and excellent. Shame I missed the first two episodes. Just happened to open the TV section and there it was. Please continue to cater for those who are not big fans of dumbed-down TV.
Heather, Bromley, EnglandI am finding Spiral an excellent, riveting and challenging series. The best thing on TV at the moment. Amazing acting, particularly Caroline Proust and Philippe Duclos, with subtle and utterly believable performances. Please bring us the next series and far more French TV/films please, BBC Four.
Jess Sains, Swimbridge, DevonGreat series - found it by accident while switching channels. This must be the second time round for the first series on BBC Four, I'm enjoying every minute. Good to have French films back on TV. Please, let's have more.
Lloyd Sutherland, BristolA very gripping drama with a real feel about it. The only two downers are: the time it's shown (too late for early risers); and the subtitles mean I can't keep a handle on the action as quickly as I would like. However, it's so good I will persevere.
D Dean, ChelmsfordSpiral is absolutely brilliant - the best drama we have seen for years. Please let's have more of this.
Caroline, GreenwichThis is a wonderful series. I am watching it for the third time and am just as engrossed as before. It is very pacey with plenty going on. The lead actor is the most beautiful man I have ever seen. I love the way women are depicted - they are strong without that 'having to prove yourself better than men' thing that we go in for. Having the main plot with many satellite plots to hold your interest means it is never dull, even for a moment. It is one of the classiest dramas I have been lucky enough to see. If there is another series I would love to see it.

This programme is wonderful - it is a fascinating insight into the French criminal justice system (with due allowance for fictional licence), it has great tension, great acting, beautiful people, fast-moving story lines and atmospheric locations in Paris. Along with Mad Men it is the most compelling, well-written and engrossing of current dramas on TV. The only problems are that you cannot do the ironing whilst watching because you have to read the sub-titles, and because it is so compelling we go to bed too late.
