Monty Don presents this sumptuous four part series on the flower in art, telling the stories of four iconic flowers through paintings housed in galleries across Britain.

Featuring experts in art and horticulture, the series was produced in Cardiff for BBC Four and was first shown in May 2004.


The series was also shown on BBC Two in The Zone in November-December 2004.

Painting Flowers is produced and directed by Ceri Sherlock and Paul Islwyn Thomas.

Painting Flowers is produced in association with the National Gallery and the Royal Horticultural Society.
